Dober vodja ima vizijo, pogum, integriteto, ponižnost in osredotočenost ter zmožnost strateškega načrtovanja. Dober vodja zna vzpostaviti dobro sodelovanje znotraj svoje ekipe. (Brian Tracy)
1.Vizija
“Dober poslovni vodja ustvarja vizijo, artikulira vizijo, strastno brani vizijo in jo neustavljivo poganja do realizacije.” – Jack Welch
Veliki voditelji imajo vizijo… vidijo lahko v prihodnost. Imajo jasno, razburljivo idejo o tem, kam gredo in kaj poskušajo doseči in so odlični pri strateškem načrtovanju.
Ta kakovost vizije jih ločuje od menedžerjev. Jasen pogled spremeni posameznika v posebno osebo. Ta kakovost vizije spremeni “transakcijskega managerja” v “transformacijskega voditelja”. Medtem ko manager opravi delo, veliki voditelji izkoristijo čustva svojih zaposlenih.
2. Pogum
“Pogum se upravičeno šteje za najpomembnejšo vrlino, kajti vse ostale vrline so odvisne od njega.” – Winston Churchill
Ena od pomembnejših lastnosti dobrega vodja je pogum. Imeti pogum pomeni, da ste pripravljeni prevzeti tveganja pri doseganju svojih ciljev brez zagotovila za uspeh. Ker v življenju ali podjetju ni nobene gotovosti, vsaka zaveza, ki jo naredite, in vsak ukrep, ki ga izvedete, pomeni neke vrste tveganje. Med sedmimi vodstvenimi lastnostmi je pogum najbolj prepoznavna zunanja značilnost vodje.
3. Integriteta
»Z integriteto se nimate ničesar bati, ker nimate ničesar skriti. Z integriteto boste storili pravo stvar, zato ne boste čutili nobene krivde. “- Zig Ziglar
Vsi veliki vodje se strinjajo o pomembnosti popolne poštenosti pri vsem, kar počnejo, tako znotraj kot zunaj. Jedro integritete je resničnost. Integriteta zahteva, da v vsaki situaciji vedno govorite resnico in to vsem ljudem. Resničnost je temeljna kakovost zaupanja, ki je potrebna za uspeh vsakega podjetja.
4. Skromnost
Skromnost žanje rezultate. Larry Bossidy, nekdanji predsednik uprave Honeywell in avtor knjige Izvršba, je pojasnil, zakaj vodstvene lastnosti, kot so skromnost, pripomorejo do bolj učinkovitega vodenja:
“Bolj kot lahko ukrotite svoj ego, bolj realistični ste glede svojih težav. Naučite se poslušati in priznate, da ne poznate vseh odgovorov. Veliki voditelji so tisti, ki so močni in odločni, a tudi skromni. Skromnost ne pomeni, da ste šibki ali da ne verjamete vase. Pomeni, da imate samozavest in samozavedanje, da prepoznate vrednost drugih, ne da bi se počutili ogrožene. To je eden bolj redkih atributov oziroma lastnosti dobrih voditeljev, saj zahteva zadrževanje svojega ega.
5. Strateško načrtovanje
“Strategija ni posledica načrtovanja, temveč nasprotno: je izhodišče.” – Henry Mintzberg
Veliki voditelji so izjemni pri strateškem načrtovanju. To je še ena pomembnejših prednosti vodje. Imajo možnost pogleda vnaprej in predvideti z nekaj natančnosti, v kateri smeri se razvijata industrija in trg.
Vodje imajo sposobnost predvideti trende precej pred svojimi konkurenti. Nenehno se sprašujejo: “Na osnovi današnjega dogajanja, kam gre trg? Kje bo najverjetneje čez tri mesece, čez šest mescev, v enem letu ali dveh letih?” To delajo s premišljenim strateškim načrtovanjem.
Zaradi večje konkurenčnosti lahko preživijo samo dobri voditelji in organizacije, ki lahko natančno predvidijo prihodnje trge. Samo voditelji s predvidevanjem lahko pridobijo “prednost prvega gibanja”.
6. Osredotočenost
“Uspešni ljudje ohranjajo pozitiven poudarek na življenje, ne glede na to, kaj se dogaja okoli njih. Ostanejo osredotočeni na svoje pretekle uspehe, ne pa na svoje pretekle napake. Osredotočeni so na nadaljnje korake za ukrepe, ki jih bodo popeljali bližje k uresničevanju svojih ciljev, ne pa na vse druge motnje, ki se porajajo v življenju – Jack Canfield

Veliki voditelji se osredotočajo na svoje prednosti in prednosti drugih. 7. Sodelovanje
